Sports law is about more than just athlete representation. Although we do have athlete-agents on staff, as those in the business know — sports is business (big business). And we are in the business of business law. Because of a demanding schedule, we recognize that athletes do not have the time to organize and plan as well as each individual should. With several former athletes on staff, we understand firsthand the areas where these unique professionals need assistance. Asset protection remains the cornerstone of our sports practice; and we work closely with professional (and retired) athletes' agents, financial advisors, accountants, CPAs, and business planners to ensure that the athlete has a solid team around him or her.
As sports agents, it is important to note that whether they go by "agent" or "lawyer", our lawyers are always lawyers first — agents second. Because our agents are licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, we take pride in the fact that we are regulated by the Supreme Court of Florida and the Rules of Ethics and Professionalism set forth by the Court. As a result, our duty to professional athletes — as agents and lawyers — is to always put the client first.
